The Irish Heritage Information Portal

for peoples local historical information

I would like to welcome you to heritageireland.info. This web portal will be used to provide an open space for people to post their interesting pieces of heritage from the past.

It is hoped that eventually this will cover a whole range of heritage topics, which do not seem to have a central area to be displayed. From pictures of your ancestors, to spoken tales from the older members of our society; from information about your environment and how it came about, to the history of your house, farm, or castle; stories that need to be told, to just putting historical information on the internet.

For those of you who have stumbled upon this website, please look around, and initially bear with us as we develop the site, and await people to provide their information. I have started by adding various items of interested, that I have had the good fortune to be aware of, and you may find interesting.

The concept of the site will change as time progresses. You will see that each area can have its own identity and web address, yet be integrated into the site as part of it. Whether you have a specialised or general interest in these aspects of Ireland, (and Irish connections throughout the world), I hope you find something within the following pages to enlighten your day and can be appreciated.
I welcome any comments, or suggestion, that will help to improve this web site.

We currently have info up on Archers Garage, the Djouce Mountain French Plane Crash, the huds, and DUMC&LCC (Dublin University Motorcycle and Light Car Club)
